The Hotel Hubertushof in Bad Berka is an ideal base for travelling the region and visiting many Thuringian places of interest. For example you could visit:
  • the cultural highlight Weimar, a city in a distance of only 12 km from Bad Berka, which in 1999 won the title of "European City of Culture" and which is especially famous for having been home to Goethe and Schiller, Germany's most famous poets.
 Belvedere Castle
  • the Thuringian capital of Erfurt, a lovely city that is famous for its great cathedral and lots of other historic places of interest. Visitors' highlights are the Domstufenfestspiele (theatre and opera performances at the foot of the cathedral) in summer and the Erfurt Christmas Market in winter.

  • Heidecksburg Castle in Rudolstadt, one of the most magnificent castles from the Baroque period in Thuringia
  • Friedenstein Castle in Gotha , one of the oldest towns in Germany and one of Thuringia's cultural and historical centres 
  • or, if you are prepared to travel a little bit further, the famous Wartburg Castle, where Martin Luther in the 16th century translated the New Testament from the original Greek texts into German. Wartburg  Castle is placed on the Unesco "World Cultural Heritage List"
